PoopieMate: React Native (Expo) Dog-Care App, Designed & Built Solo
A family dog-care app I planned, designed, built and launched on both app stores by myself.
Overview
It started with asking "Did she poop?" every time the family looks after one dog together. One tap now tells the whole family. I took it from idea to the App Store and Google Play by myself.
Background
Problem
A dual-income family looking after a dog that only goes outdoors kept asking each other "Did she poop?" several times a day. I wanted to fix that.
What I did
- Real-time family sync, a walk safety score that combines location and weather, Kakao and Apple sign-in, and Korean / English localization, built with React Native (Expo) + Supabase.
- Handled App Store and Google Play review and release myself.
- Made the logo, app icon, store screenshots, marketing website and motion-graphic promo videos myself.
Results
- Live on iOS and Android
I did the planning, design, development, store review and release alone and shipped to both stores.
- About 70 early users
I keep improving features and usability from their feedback.
