ComfyUI Media Assets: Sidebar for Generated Images, Video & Audio
A sidebar tab for managing generated images, video and audio, designed and built from scratch.
Overview
I designed and built, from scratch, a sidebar tab where ComfyUI users manage the images, video and audio they generate.
Background
Problem
On ComfyUI Cloud there was no UI for managing the inputs and outputs a user had created, so finding or organizing past results was hard.
What I did
- Built it layer by layer: core tab framework → MediaAssetCard primitive → history pagination → multi-select → right-click context menu → bulk workflow actions.
- Previews for images, video and 3D files, workflow JSON download and open, and bulk delete and download.
- Led the decision on where multi-file ZIP downloads should run (the server for large exports, the client for a few images).
- Documented card states in Storybook to make design review and reuse easier.
Results
- Built the sidebar from scratch
I built the whole presentation layer myself, from the tab framework to cards, multi-select and the context menu.
